Tiger's Den Vol 28 - Letter
Hello OA Families,
I hope your family teacher conferences were fruitful! It was a pleasure to greet many of you at the door. Teachers at both campuses dedicated time and effort to prepare our conversations so that we could celebrate student achievements, and partner on supporting next steps. Thank you to our families for coming out, and making so many sacrifices to be present for your children. If you did not get a chance to make it today, please reach out to your teachers to find a time! We want to make sure that we have a relationship with each family, and are finding pathways to support each child.
This week was short, but we still have a lot to celebrate! In Laura Kleinmann's library class at Oyster, we want to highlight her historic "Read to Your Bunny," initiative where students in 2nd and 3rd grade read to their younger siblings during library class. I had the opportunity to participate and celebrate the power of reading in Spanish with 1st grade! What a beautiful tradition and practice that helps us strengthen bonds between students of different grades while applying our reading skills.
We also owe a big round of applause to Asamblea, Adams's student government, for running a drive to collect 569 cans and food items for Martha's Table! A special thank you to the 6th-grade students who collected 322 items on their own! Thank you to Ms. Voorhees for helping our young people model servant leadership.

See you on Monday!
Carolina Brito, Principal
