BEFORE CARE
We are thrilled to announce that beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, the Oyster-Adams Before Care program will be completely free for up to 70 registered families from either campus (first come, first served)!
Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 AM each morning at each campus. During this time, they will have the opportunity to:
Engage in enrichment activities led by our dedicated Teacher Partner staff
Have space to finish their pending homework or engage in Silent Reading
Socialize with peers in a welcoming and supportive environment
UPDATE ON ADAMS BEFORE CARE: This year we have enough available and interested staff @ Adams to open an Adams Before Care program! We will no longer have Adams groups starting at Oyster, or an OA organized Before Care walking group. Instead Adams Before Care students can report straight to Adams at 7:30am. We would love to create a possible walking bus starting from Oyster, but we are looking for parent volunteers willing to take turns supporting each other in creating that. We hope this new initiative provides added support to our families and contributes to a strong start to each school day!
We will close registration upon filling all spots. Please register at this link. Families with multiple children should fill out a form for each child.

AFTER CARE – Oyster Creative Activities (OCA)
Our After Care Program is managed by an independent 501C3 that has proudly partnered with us since the 90's. While we work in close coordination, Oyster-Adams Bilingual and DCPS does not manage the program, waitlists or sliding scales. Please reach out directly to OCA's Executive Director for any questions regarding the info below.
Spots for aftercare filled in record time this year starting in May and June of last year. Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades are full for this year.

Please note that joining the aftercare 2026–2027 interest list does not guarantee a spot in OCA. All placements are offered based on space availability.
To help meet families' after-school care needs, we have partnered with Casa LALA, which has been able to accommodate many families from our waitlist. Please let Connie know if that's of interest for you!
