Newsletter - November 21
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I cherish the idea of pausing our fast-paced lives to be with family, eat together, and be grateful for all we have. We have so much to be thankful for, especially for this incredible, thriving, and supportive school community.
Please take a few minutes to read the following information and announcements for this short week. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Native American Heritage Month
- Let’s reflect and celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and history of Indigenous peoples. There are many ways in which we can learn about Native Amercian Heritage. Let’s read about the injustices that these communities face, advocate for the investment in Native student resources, or visit a local museum.
Announcement
- Adams updates: we want to thank everyone who attended last week's meeting construction updates for the Adams campus. Please see here a copy of the presentation.
- We are so proud of all the students at OA. This time we would like to give a big shout out to Annika Pinol (6th grade) and Katherine Reyes (8th grade) who finished at 11th place and won medals in the Rookie Debate Tournament.”
- There will not be school for students for the rest of the week in observance of the Thanksgiving celebration.
- The final plan to start the High Impact Tutoring program will be shared next week.
That is all for now.
