Thank you again for your patience, support, and feedback on this first day of school as we welcomed new and returning students to the Oyster-Adams community and coordinated transportation to our swing space located at Meyer Elementary.

While we originally had families to register for transportation and identify their preferred timeslot, we quickly realized today that it will be best to provide all our students with a seamless, convenient option to commute to school that ensures they arrive safely and on time for their classes. To make certain we can accommodate our entire in-boundary enrollment, I am confirming that beginning tomorrow, DC Public Schools (DCPS) will add two additional buses to the current transportation structure to increase capacity and flexibility.

That said, I would like to provide the following updates on the bus schedule to and from our swing location:

• For today’s afternoon dismissal, all buses left at 3:45 p.m. to ensure that we accounted for all students.
• Buses dismissing from our after-care program also left five minutes later than originally scheduled (5:45 p.m.) without issue.
• Please see the updated bus schedule below that will start tomorrow, Tuesday, August 29th. DCPS has adjusted the initial allocation of buses and added two more buses for both morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. 
• All students arriving within the designated times will be accommodated on the buses.
• To ensure students arrive to Meyer by 8:45 a.m. in time to begin our morning schedule, all buses will depart no later than 8:20 a.m.
• For tomorrow, buses will arrive earlier for those who may miss this message tonight.
• Pick-up and drop-off locations will remain the same. If you registered for one location, please continue to use it as we will use the same rosters we had for today. If you need to make any changes, please send an email to [email protected] indicating your current location and requested change. We aim to be able to confirm changes within the same day.
