Tiger's Den Vol 4 - Letter
Dear Oyster-Adams Families,
As we kick off another amazing year at Oyster-Adams Bilingual School, we invite all families to join us for our Back-to-School events happening this week (11th at Oyster) and next week (the 18th at Adams). These gatherings are a great opportunity to meet teachers, connect with other families, and learn more about our core academic programming this year. We have great news to share with families about our growth in academic achievement (record growth in literacy and math CAPE results and AP Spanish data), and our school goals this year. For Adams families, this is your chance to tour the whole building in a little scavenger hunt! My message is intentionally brief this week to give you time to peruse our school newsletter carefully for important updates, including:
Student Transportation & Safety: Details about new safety measures for arrival and dismissal, including traffic patterns and walker/bus rider protocols. In this political climate, it is also essential that you are aware of our safety policies in case of federal enforcement around our school.
Online Absence Notes: DCPS is launching a new online system to make it easier for families to report student absences. Instructions are in the newsletter.
Upcoming Lockdown Drill: As part of our school safety procedures, we will conduct a scheduled lockdown drill next week and the following week. More information on what to expect is provided in the newsletter.
Oyster-Adams at the Washington Spirit Game: Don't forget to get your tickets for tomorrow’s OA Night at the Washington Spirit game! It’s a fun way to kick off the year and show school spirit together as a community.

Bike to OA Fridays at Pierce Park (8:20am) is an awesome example of keeping our students safe on their way to school!
We look forward to seeing you at our Back-to-School events! Thank you for your continued partnership and support in making Oyster-Adams a vibrant, safe, and inclusive place for our students to learn and grow.
Warm regards,
Carolina Brito, Principal
