Principal Communications
Newsletter - January 25th
I hope everyone has had a great week thus far. I wanted to thank all the families who came out and helped to clear the snow on Monday @ the Oyster Campus so our children could go out play on the recess field. Special thanks to Ashley Mahoney (mom of Jack and Connor) for organizing the event and it was a huge success. I also wanted to express my gratitude to all the families who were able to join us in person or via teams for the Oyster Adams Boundary earlier this week. Being present at the meeting reminded me about how passionate and committed our community is about our school, children, staff and bilingual education. It is an honor to serve this community and our children. In the next few weeks, we will be hosting an additional boundary change meeting at the Oyster campus, and I encourage you to try and join in person if that is possible. We have a wonderful community, and we must try and continue to keep our community intact.
In the past week I have been informed that there have been several confirmed cases of lice at our school. On January 31st @ 5:00 pm we will be hosting a virtual training on detecting and preventing lice for all families interested in attending. The link to the meeting can be found Here. We will be recording the meeting and posting it on the school website if you are not available to attend. In addition, we are thinking of hosting a morning training course at Oyster if there is interest. For more immediate information, please review the information we obtained from DC Health on tips to minimize the spread of lice and things families can do to help with this effort.

Just a quick reminder that I will be hosting a principal’s coffee at the Oyster campus next week on Monday and at the Adams campus @ Meyers on Tuesday. Look forward to connecting and providing some more updates and listening to the community then.
