Facility update- Adams Campus at 11th Street
At Oyster-Adams, we are committed to ensuring the best learning environment for our scholars. Communicating about issues that impact our facilities is critical to fostering strong partnerships with families.
I am writing to share that we have been experiencing intermittent HVAC issues affecting the air conditioning across 11 classrooms at our building. Our Department of General Services (DGS) partners have been working to assess and resolve the issue since yesterday.
The DC Public Schools (DCPS) Operations and Facilities Teams have been supportive in providing temporary cooling measures such as fans, replacement units, and spot coolers while repairs are underway. As of this morning, nine of the classroom units are back online and operational, and we will continue to relocate students, if needed, to cooler areas of the building to ensure student and staff comfort to the extent possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to address this issue promptly.
