Look at Ms. Janssens’s fabulous lesson on Antoni Gaudi’s architecture forms. Students were able to access the structural analysis through language scaffolds, including a vocabulary bank, guiding discussion questions and sentence frames.
As Mercedes Sosa says, “Gracias a la vida, que nos ha dado tanto,” including Mr. Salvador who is leading a phenomenal 3rd grade choir. Thanks to your time and sacrifice, our 3rd grade choir sounds incredible! We appreciate the after-school hours to make this joy happen.
Shout out to the 6th grade team’s collaboration! Check out Ms. Schuettpelz’s bilingual anchor charts on organizing data. This was the product of collaborating with Sr. Chavez at the end of last year. This will support students in their analysis of data in science and reinforce a skill Sr. Chavez identified students coming into 6th grade need more practice with.
In the humanities classrooms you’ll see both Ms. Aguilar and Sra. Suarez building knowledge to help students answer their shared essential question- How can growing up be a cause for sadness and celebration? In English they are studying the theme of growing up through the lens of the characters of “Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry,” and in Spanish through the lens of the challenges children face around the world.
