Calling all Summer Gardeners

Calling all summer gardeners! Thanks to the OCC, Oyster-Adams now has a thriving garden at the Meyer campus. If you haven’t had a chance yet, we encourage you to check it out! We have numerous plants of a variety of species, and we need YOUR help to keep the garden healthy and happy (and producing!) over the summer.

We are seeking volunteers to water, weed, and harvest between June 17th and August 31st. If this could be you, please check out our sign-up genius! For those that wish to harvest, you may enjoy the produce yourself or you may transport it to the Oyster Campus, where all OA families will have the opportunity to stop by and pick up some fresh, locally sourced (VERY locally!) produce. The Oyster campus was selected for distribution as it will be hosting the Dedos this summer, a camp that many OA families attend.

In addition to having a need for summer gardeners, we have an opportunity for more plants to be added to the garden! We have several empty or partially used beds, and we welcome interested families to contact [email protected] and/or [email protected] for more information on beds in which planting space is still available.

There is still time to plant many species (carrots and pumpkins, anyone?), and we would love your help to make our garden as robust and productive as possible.

Warm regards,

Lucy Voorhees and Carla Ferris
