Overview

I cordially greet you hoping that you are having an excellent start to 2025. I would like to inform you that I have started my unit on “Music in Black History”. I will begin by talking about the evolution of music from Africa to America till today. Examples: African folk songs, work songs, black spirituals, gospel, blues, jazz, rap, etc.

The essential question for this unit is: How can we use music to convey a message when words and actions fail?

The songs to be learned are as follows:

  • 9:00-9:15 am: PreK - Wednesday, March 5th 2025
  • 9:15-9:30 am: Kinder - Wednesday, March 5th 2025
  • 9:30-10:00 am: 1st Grade - Wednesday, March 5th 2025
  • 10:00-10:20 am: 2nd - Wednesday, March 5th 2025
