Musical Auditions

  • @ 3:40 pm - 5:30 pm

Dear Families,

Please read carefully. Below are important details regarding auditions, casting, callbacks, rehearsal expectations, and key dates for our upcoming production of Alice in Wonderland.

Auditions

Auditions for cast members will take place from 3:40–5:30 PM in Room 131A (Music Classroom) on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, November 12

  • Thursday, November 13

  • Friday, November 14

Students only need to attend one day of auditions. Recognizing that many students have after-school commitments, we’ve added multiple audition dates to provide students and families with more flexibility. Students simply need to show up to auditions prepared no need to let directors know which audition date your student will attend.

Production crew members (stage managers, stage crew, decoration team, costume makers, tech team, photographer/videographer, hair & makeup artists) do not need to audition. Instead, they should complete the Musical Interest Form available on E. Castro’s Clever page, if they haven’t already.

Casting Announcements

  • Not all roles will be double-cast.
  • Casting decisions will be made based on audition performance and rubric scores.
  • Roles are considered final unless a student drops out or becomes injured.
  • Casting results will be posted on E. Castro’s Clever page on Friday, November 21 by 4:00 PM.

We encourage students to view casting results privately. If your student needs support processing this information, please reach out to our student growth team:

  • Adriana Rossel – Middle School Social Worker
  • Brenda Alvarado– School Counselor
  • Josue Sorto-Ramos- Behavior Technician
  • Kevin Castro- Restorative Justice Coordinator
  • Ellie Young- Mary Center School Therapist

Musical Contract

All students, cast and crew, must complete the Musical Contract to confirm their participation.

To accept a role, both the student and guardian must sign the contract, which outlines expectations for rehearsal attendance and commitment. If a student cannot meet these expectations, their role may be reassigned to an understudy.

Two ways to submit the contract:

  • Sign the online contract and email it to the three directors.
  • Request a paper copy by emailing Ms. Alfaro, who will provide one to your student.

The contract will be posted on the Clever page alongside casting results on Friday, November 21. All signed contracts are due by Tuesday, November 25 at 6:00 PM.

Scripts

Bilingual scripts will be distributed to cast members during the first week of rehearsal (Dec. 1–5).
