Visit with Salvadorian Author Mario Bencastro / Visita con el Autor Salvadoreño Mario Bencastro

(En español a continuación)

On Friday, May 27th we had the honor of hosting Salvadoran author Mario Bencastro at our school. Sr. Bencastro presented his bilingual book UnE tren llamado Esperanza/ A Train Called Hope to our 2nd graders. The book is about a young man who must travel alone on top of a Mexican train to reunite with his mother in the United States. The author also invited a few children to help him read the book aloud in Spanish. Twenty children had the book and were able to get it signed by the author. We learned a lot and had a wonderful time. Thank you, Sr. Bencastro.
