Elizabeth Shashaty, MD
Dr. Shashaty is a Board-Certified Pediatrician, who has worked with patients in DC hospitals for 15+ years. She has three kids, and her youngest is in 4th grade at OA. She loves talking to people about health and medicine questions. During the pandemic, she has had a lot of discussions with families about vaccines for COVID-19, and is happy to do the same for the OA community.

Meg Sullivan, MD, MPH:
Dr Meg Sullivan, a Board-Certified Pediatrician, recently relocated to Washington DC from Charlotte, North Carolina where she has served as the Medical Director at the Mecklenburg County Health Department. As part of this role, she served as the medical lead for all of the County’s COVID-19 response efforts, including policy development, contact tracing, and medical direction and support for schools and childcare centers. She also led Mecklenburg County’s COVID-19 Vaccine Response, including developing and implementing a coordinated, equitable approach to COVID-19 vaccine delivery and outreach throughout the county.
Dr. Sullivan has extensive knowledge of the COVID-19 vaccine, which she has shared during bilingual media interviews, community presentations, and individual conversations with patients and parents while working at vaccine clinics.
She has also worked at a Federally Qualified Health Center (Mary’s Center) in Washington, DC and as the Medical Director of Timmy Global Health in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Dr. Sullivan has three children who started at Oyster-Adams this year (2nd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade) and twins who will be starting Kindergarten next year.

Ashley Darcy Mahoney, PhD, NP
Ashley Darcy Mahoney is a neonatal nurse practitioner and researcher at George Washington University. She has worked throughout her career to advance research and practice, with a focus on neonatology, infant health and developmental pediatrics. Most recently she was the nurse scholar in residence at the National Academy of Medicine. In addition, she is part of the DC Medical Reserve Corps and has been volunteering throughout the pandemic has been active in COVID-19 mass testing sites, administering vaccines to adults as well as children through mobile clinics and through GWU School of Nursing.
Dr. Darcy Mahoney has two children and is new to the Oyster-Adams Family this year.
