Sra. Christina Valentiner is the new 8th grade Spanish humanities teacher. Sra. Valentiner was born in Caracas, Venezuela and discovered her love of teaching while she voluntarily taught in a village school in Mastatal, Costa Rica for three months. There she discovered her passion and desire to work with students. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Geography and International Affairs from the George Washington University and her Masters in Education degree with a focus on Social Education from the University of Houston. She taught for two years in Austin, Texas where she helped build the dual language program in which she taught US History and Texas history to 7th and 8th graders in Spanish, next year will be her 3rd year of teaching. Sra. Valentiner and her husband are moving back to DC and she is excited to join the Oyster-Adams team. She strives to create life-long learners by setting every one of her students up for success and believes in the power of bilingual education.
