Ms. Erin Druelinger came to Oyster Adams as the school counselor at the primary campus in 2016 and has been an educator for over ten years. She began her journey in education teaching English as a New York City Teaching Fellow where she taught 3rd – 8th grade language learners. Ms. Druelinger then moved to Mexico where she taught kindergarten at a private international school before joining DC Public Schools six years ago. In 2013, she was honored at the National Book Festival for Teaching Excellence in Literacy. In 2014, she received the Rubenstein Award for Highly Effective Teaching. One of her proudest moments was when Barbara Wilson (the creator of Fundations, Just Words and the Wilson Reading Program; literacy guru and Ms. Druelinger’s personal idol in education) flew from Boston to watch her teach. Ms. Druelinger recently received her M.A. in counseling from The George Washington University. She is extremely excited to be working as a school counselor at Oyster Adams Bilingual School. In her free time Ms. Druelinger enjoys hiking, yoga, playing with her son and spending time with family and friends.
