Ms. Allison Koehler taught English as a Second Language in her home state of Michigan, before moving to our nation’s capital. While finishing her Bachelor’s degree, she helped implement the ESL program for Comstock Public Schools and is proud to have worked with their K-12 students that struggled with reading and writing. Ms. Koehler graduated from Western Michigan University with a dual major in Spanish and Political Science. While finding her way in the world, Ms. Koehler was a substitute teacher at her former high school and taught Spanish, which made her realize how important teaching was to her. Srta. Koehler’s passion for language, culture and educating our youth is easy to see. Teaching bilingually has always been a dream for her, as she knew from a young age she wanted to help children and be an advocate for promoting different cultures and languages in our country. She loves the energy in Washington, DC, and how diverse the city is. In her free time, Ms. Koehler works at a yoga studio in DuPont, enjoys trying new coffee shops and enjoys discussing international politics.
