A few weeks ago, we shared some information about the Adams modernization project. Although we have not received any additional information, the school leadership team must create the committee for our first family engagement meeting in November. It will be called The Oyster-Adams School Improvement Team (SIT)! The following outlines the process of engagement for forming and executing a SIT for the next two to three years.
A SIT is a working group of 10-15 stakeholders formed to offer feedback and communicate updates on the modernization. These stakeholders include teachers, administration, community leaders, neighbors, students, and parents. SIT Meetings maintain this small size in order to ensure a productive conversation.
The school leadership team will tap approximately 5 interested and available staff members (teachers, admin, and custodial staff) to volunteer to join the SIT. Similarly, OCC and LSAT will be responsible for choosing 2 members to represent them. We will also invite one or two students if they are available. When selecting who is in the committee, we will consider a balance between English and Spanish family speakers as well as in and out boundary families. Although we must create a specific committee, as a school we will hear your questions and concerns directly and will amplify the message, needs, and wonders of the school community. If you are interested in being part of the SIT, please complete the following form by COB, Wednesday, November 2nd.
Hace unas semanas, compartimos información sobre el proyecto de modernización de Adams. Aunque no hemos recibido ninguna información adicional, el equipo de liderazgo escolar debe crear el comité para nuestra primera reunión de participación familiar en noviembre. ¡Se llamará The Oyster-Adams School Improvement Team (SIT)! A continuación, se describe el proceso de participación para formar y ejecutar una SIT durante los próximos dos o tres años.
EL SIT es un grupo de trabajo de 10-15 partes interesadas formado para ofrecer comentarios y comunicar actualizaciones sobre la modernización. Estas partes interesadas incluyen maestro/as, administración, líderes comunitarios, vecinos, estudiantes y padres. Las reuniones SIT mantienen este tamaño pequeño para garantizar una conversación productiva.
El equipo de liderazgo escolar seleccionará aproximadamente 5 miembros del personal interesados y disponibles (maestro/as, administradores y personal de custodia) para que se ofrezcan como voluntarios para unirse al SIT. Del mismo modo, OCC y LSAT serán responsables de elegir a 2 miembros para que los representen. También invitaremos a uno/a o dos estudiantes si están disponibles. Al seleccionar quién está en el comité, consideraremos un equilibrio entre los hablantes de familia de inglés y español, así como las familias dentro y fuera de los límites del vecindario. Aunque debemos crear un comité específico, como escuela escucharemos sus preguntas e inquietudes directamente y amplificaremos el mensaje, las necesidades y las maravillas de la comunidad escolar.
