Middle School Term 4 plans

Dear Middle School In-Person Families, We are delighted that so many students will be returning to the building.  Our building and safety precautions are ready, you can watch this videofor a look into Adams.  Teachers and admin prepared a soft launch to Term 4 which was focused on building community and preparing students for changes.  Below is important information for your student’s first day back. Please read the entirety of this document carefully. Coming to school on Thursday, April 22: If your student is returning to OA in person, their first day on campus will be April 22. Spring Break Travel: If your student has traveled during vacation (outside of the DMV), they must quarantine 10 days and/or until they can demonstrate a negative test result for Covid-19.  The test should be taken 3-5 days upon return to DC. Families will need to accompany their student to day 1 drop off:Student arrival is staggered, you may want to arrive a little early, especially if you plan to fill out paper copies the morning of. You can also download the required paperwork and print and bring signed copies with you. Leave time to look for parking and/or walk if you live in the neighborhood. Sixth grade will enter the building first at 8:40 Seventh at 8:45 8th grade by 8:50  Upon arrival, your student will have their health check where they receive a temperature check and sanitize their hands. At this time, students present the nurse with their Daily Screening Tracker. Students will then proceed into the building, grab breakfast, and walk up to the third floor.  Materials to bring to in-person on Day 1 (and every day after):  –water bottle/water;  –computer – all school technology that has been loaned to virtual students; bring your school/personal laptop with you to school; –Headphones; –lunch (unless selecting school lunch);  –sweater/sweatshirt;  –all learning materials/supplies provided in kits; –lock for assigned locker (we have less than 20 locks for purchase for $5, it’s better to bring your own combination lock).  –Tight fitting mask (we have kid sized surgical blue masks on site), gators are not allowed. Students will have to leave their personal items in their locker,including their phones, and will not be able to check their phones during school hours.  Important forms required for student participation during In-Person Programming (IPL): Families should review and complete the forms before reporting on Thursday. If you do not have a printer at home, a hard copy of these documents will be provided to you during student arrival on Thursday morning.
