Happy Women’s History & Empowerment Month! During this month, and every month, we highlight the amazing contributions of women, from all backgrounds, in our communities. Also, we examine the specific struggles that women face based upon their different backgrounds locally and globally. In mathematics, we want to highlight local women in careers within mathematics and science. We know that our families have parents and caregivers who are wonderful women who use mathematics and science to make our world a better place. We want to place the spotlight on you because you deserve it, and our students deserve to see that we need to elevate and empower all women in mathematics and science. If you identify as a woman in career in mathematics and/or science, please share the following information: (1) your name (2) your occupation (3) your personal story of how you became a mathematician and/or scientist (4) successful moments in your career (5) one struggle that you faced within your career due to your gender as a woman (6) words of encouragement for young people, who identify as girls or young women, on starting and continuing careers in mathematics and science. ¡Feliz Mes de la Historia y el Empoderamiento de la Mujer! Durante este mes, y todos los meses, destacamos las increíbles contribuciones de las mujeres, de todos los orígenes, en nuestras comunidades. Además, examinamos las luchas específicas que enfrentan las mujeres en función de sus diferentes antecedentes a nivel local y global. En matemáticas, queremos destacar a las mujeres locales en carreras dentro de las matemáticas y las ciencias. Sabemos que nuestras familias tienen madres que son mujeres maravillosas que usan las matemáticas y la ciencia para hacer de nuestro mundo un lugar mejor. Queremos destacarle porque se lo merece, y nuestros estudiantes merecen ver que necesitamos elevar y empoderar a todas las mujeres en matemáticas y ciencias. Si se identifica como mujer en una carrera en matemáticas y/o ciencias, por favor comparte la siguiente información: (1) tu nombre (2) tu ocupación (3) tu historia personal de cómo te convertiste en matemática y/o científica (4) momentos exitosos en su carrera (5) una lucha que enfrentó dentro de su carrera debido a su género como mujer (6) palabras de aliento para los jóvenes, que se identifican como niñas o mujeres jóvenes, para comenzar y continuar carreras en matemáticas y ciencias .
