It’s FUN RUN time, an annual OA tradition of celebrating physical fitness in a city park. Students head to Rock Creek Park during PE class to run or walk with classmates. Below is a table with the run schedule for each class.
We need parents to participate as follows:
- Run or chaperone your child’s run. It takes less than 90 minutes! Each class needs at least 5 chaperones. The more, the merrier. The PE teacher can’t do it on his own. Chaperones arrive 20 minutes early & the run takes about 1 hour. To volunteer just email Ana Maria.
- Sponsor your runner. Any amount is welcome. Ask family and friends to sponsor too! Each child will receive an envelope for submitting money. If you pay with a check, make it out to OCC and write “Fun Run” and your kid’s grade in the note. Envelopes must be dropped at the main office by the day after the run.
- Submit the permission slip to your teacher up until the day before the run.
- Encourage your runner. This is not a contest: This is just fun! Ensure a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast.
A Good Cause!
All proceeds go to the PE program (10%) and to the grade’s field trip fund (think of this fund as a savings account for your kid’s field trips for this year and years to come).
