Ms. Carmelita is a clinical therapist who has worked at Mary Center as the in school clinician (LICSW licensed) at Bancroft Elementary school. She is now ready to join DCPS and move into a full time school social worker role with us. She brings a wealth of experience, having worked as a social worker, psychologist and family therapist since 1987 in the United States and in Brazil. She is fully trilingual in English, Spanish and Portuguese. She holds a Masters in Science in Clinical Psychology from Federal University of minas Gerais and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland. Thank you, Melissa Shaw, who will serve as his mentor next year.
