Help Start an Environment Club at Oyster-Adams!

Concerned about Climate Change? Help Start an Environment Club at Oyster-Adams! Climate change is the single most important issue of our time-especially for our kids. Some parents at Oyster-Adams would like to start a club to empower students (and their families) to:

  • raise awareness about climate change (invite speakers to come to school, include student-written articles in the OCC newsletter, etc)
  • advocate for new policies, practices and programs at school and in the city that help the environment (not just recycling! Let’s look at other school districts for new ideas)
  • educate kids and families about what you can do at home and in your daily life to reduce your carbon footprint (diet changes, lightbulbs, transportation and more)
  • Work with the science teachers who already teach these topics at OA.

We need students and student leaders and parent volunteers and teachers who can partner with us to make this happen!

This is just the beginning and YOU can help design this new program, which would launch in Fall 2019!
