The school year is coming to an end and summer is about to start. We want every student to have a great summer, which of course includes some wonderful reading time!
All students are required to complete the OA summer reading program, which includes the following:
- Choose two books (one Spanish, one English). These can be checked out from the OA school library or come from home or the public library.
- Write a short review of each of the two books.
- Return completed assignment to your 2018-19 English and Spanish Humanities teachers during the first week of school.
Students can also participate in the DC Public Library Summer Challenge. They can win prizes, such as a book, baseball tickets, and more. For more information visit your library or go to: dclibrary.org/summerreading.
Please talk to your child about the importance of summer reading and help keep them on track to finish the assignment using the table above. A guide for the review and book recommendations will be posted on the Oyster-Adams website for your reference.
Have a wonderful summer!Links for assignments:
Students should complete a fiction book review, or a non-fiction book review, not both.
