The Adams Campus will be renovated beginning in the fall of 2023 through spring 2025. This is our planning year. Beginning in the fall 2023, the Adams Campus will be relocated to Meyer Elementary, located at 2501 11th Street NW.
On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 3:30-4:30pm, D.C. Public Schools will convene a meeting to discuss the Adams renovation with the School Improvement Team, or SIT. The SIT is an advisory team consisting of staff, teachers, parents, and other community members to provide feedback during the project and assist with communicating about the renovation progress.
This meeting is offered both in person and virtually. You are welcome to attend.
The March 7 meeting will include:
- Introduction. Tania Shand, DCPS Project Manager overseeing the Adams renovation.
- Transportation // Bus to Swing Space. Lisa Putnam, Strategic School Operations & Warehouse Logistics, will answer questions on buses and transportation. DCPS cautions that this SIT meeting is not exclusively about bussing and discussion time will be limited.
- School Design. Representatives from the architecture firm StudioMB and their construction subcontractor Consigli will host a listening session about the culture of Oyster-Adams. They will also have three stations to gather feedback and a model of the existing building.
We will provide a summary of the meeting.

El plantel de Adams se renovará a partir del otoño de 2023 hasta la primavera de 2025. Este es nuestro año de planificación. A partir del otoño de 2023, el campus de Adams se trasladará a la escuela primaria Meyer, ubicada en 2501 11th Street NW.
El martes, 7 de marzo de 2023, de 3:30 pm a 4:30 pm, las Escuelas Públicas de D.C. (DCPS por sus siglas en inglés) convocarán una reunión para discutir la renovación de Adams con el Equipo de Mejoramiento Escolar, o SIT. El SIT es un equipo asesor compuesto por personal, maestros, padres y otros miembros de la comunidad para brindar comentarios durante el proyecto y ayudar a comunicar sobre el progreso de la renovación.
Esta reunión se ofrece tanto en persona como virtualmente.
La reunión del 7 de marzo incluirá:
- Introducción. Tania Shand, Gerente de Proyectos de DCPS supervisando la renovación de Adams.
- Transporte // Autobús a Swing Space. Lisa Putnam, Operaciones Escolares Estratégicas y Logística de Almacén, responderá preguntas sobre autobuses y transporte. DCPS advierte que esta reunión SIT no se trata exclusivamente de transporte y el tiempo de discusión será limitado.
- Diseño Escolar. Representantes de la firma de arquitectura StudioMB y su subcontratista de construcción Consigli organizarán una sesión de escucha sobre la cultura de Oyster-Adams. También tendrán tres estaciones para recopilar comentarios y un modelo del edificio existente.
