He was one of 7 teachers honored at the Standing Ovation Ceremony for Highly Effective Teachers. He teaches Spanish Humanities in our Middle School with passion and dedication. Principal Monica Liang-Aguirre also received the Rubenstein Award for Highly Effective Leadership in 2011.

Oyster-Adams Bilingual School is one of six recipients of the Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) Award for significant increase in student achievement during the 2009-2010 school year. Schools selected for the TEAM award have demonstrated significant increases in student gains on the reading and math DC-CAS between school years 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. The awards grants the entire staff (teachers, coaches, administrators and support and custodial staff) a generous financial reward for their efforts.
